“Autumn, Celtic Music, Football, Gettysburg, and Videography.” If I were putting together a list of components needed for my favorite type of project ever, those four elements would definitely be included…
Lauren and Rob were married on October 12, 2013 in my favorite town in the world, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Both being former students at Gettysburg College, their ceremony was held at Christ Chapel, located right on campus. This was our very first wedding project held in the town so needless to say I was very excited about filming this one.
Upon arriving at the chapel, I quickly got the sense that this was going to be an epic wedding. The trees were showing their vivid Autumn colors, there were blue skies overhead, a perfect mid-October temperature, and I learned that the evening entertainment was going to be a Celtic Rock Band (one of my absolute favorite genres of music).
Immediately following the beautifully decorated traditional Catholic ceremony, we took off in a party bus for the reception, which was held at Boulder Ridge Lodge at nearby Liberty Mountain Resort. Along the way we made several stops, one being to Musselman Stadium, home of the Gettysburg Bullets where Rob played defensive line for the football team during his college years, and another to Seminary Ridge, home of some intense fighting during the battle that took place there in 1863.
The reception itself consisted of an enormous outside cocktail hour tent, beautiful Autumn themed decorations, traditional events such as cake cutting, garter, bouquet, etc., powerful speeches by the parents and bridal party members, several delicious Autumn themed dishes and drinks, a DJ for band intermissions, and last but definitely not least — Jamison, a Celtic Rock Band from Philadelphia. For some reason I had never heard of these guys, but I definitely became an instant fan. If you’ve never heard them yourself, make sure to check them out live sometime, or at least visit their website at www.jamisoncelticrock.com. You’ll be glad you did. (Also stay tuned for a video we put together of highlights from Jamison’s performance).
While editing the DVD I realized there was no possible way to pack all the epicness of the day into one short trailer video, but you can watch my attempt at it above. We’d like to thank Lauren and Rob again for allowing us to be a part of their big day, and wish them nothing but the best for their future together.
Sláinte!!!
